About The Position

Monday Night Brewing is seeking a full-time Assistant General Manager for their Garden Co. taproom. The Assistant General Manager will directly support the General Manager with business operations, including facilitating and living out the Monday Night culture, vision and vibe. Requirements

  • At least 3 years of bar or restaurant senior management experience, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of hiring, building, and growing strong and diverse teams.
  • Business acumen, including the ability to identify insights from P&L and KPIs to build actionable plans and drive results.
  • Dynamic, action-oriented team player that is self-motivated and confident in making independent decisions.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • High sense of urgency and energy.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS and back-office systems.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google docs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for in-person training for newly hired back of house and front of house employees with assistance from the Kitchen Manager and General Manager
  • Exemplify core values and continue to instill them into the team
  • Execute private events working closely with your leadership team
  • Ensure guests have an excellent experience with our products and service expectations from entering to leaving
  • Daily or as needed keg load-in and load-out, lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing checklists for the bar, coffee, kitchen, dining, common areas, and patio
  • Assist in ensuring restaurant has inventory of all items to support our sales needs
  • Use a point-of-sale system to ring up all transactions, as well as manage open bar tabs
  • Prepare drinks, pizza, coffee, and all other items we sell according to prescribed menus and portioning standards
  • Serve drinks and food items to customers in the taproom and patio areas
  • Responsible for safe practices at all times and assisting with the cleaning of the taproom including seating areas, restrooms, bar areas, kitchen, dish pit, patios, parking lot, etc.
  • Follow the guidelines for the taproom and patio experience including music selection and volume, video display, games, etc.
  • Work with marketing and other management to make sure that all marketing posters and signage is up to date and correct; Attend weekly round table marketing meetings as needed. Management will schedule you.
  • Follow all federal and state alcohol regulations about serving alcohol
  • Problem-solve on the spot as issues or changes arise with guests or events
  • Organize and manage staff rosters and staff schedules to ensure smooth operation including changing public and private events
  • Oversee the Operation and Execution of all Public and Private Events
  • Oversee monthly inventory assessments, restocking, and supply orders (1st of the month)
  • Monitor and manage financial aspects like petty cash and budget adherence
  • Guide and support the team, including conflict resolution, fostering a positive work environment, and driving accountability by using the company documents as needed: Performance Improvement Plans, and/or Performance Documentation.
  • Contribute to strategy discussions and operational improvements
  • Attend meetings as needed and hold bi-weekly 1:1 with Shift Leads and other key team members
  • Refer to the Daily Admin Checklist for daily duties responsibilities
  • Create and conduct staff training and scheduling
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities as assigned.
