About The Position

The Courtyard West Homestead Assistant General Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager to ensure the seamless operation of the hotel, delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational efficiency. This position involves overseeing daily hotel functions including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance departments to uphold brand standards and maximize profitability. The Assistant General Manager will lead, motivate, and develop team members to foster a positive work environment and ensure high levels of employee engagement and guest satisfaction. They will also assist in managing budgets, controlling costs, and implementing marketing strategies to drive revenue growth. Ultimately, this role is essential in maintaining the hotel’s reputation for quality service and operational excellence within the accommodation and food services industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel management or a similar role within the accommodation and food services industry.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing multi-department teams.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills daily to coordinate multiple departments and ensure operational efficiency.
• Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with guests, staff, and senior management, resolving conflicts, and fostering teamwork.
• Analytical skills are applied to interpret financial data, monitor budgets, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Proficiency in hospitality management software supports smooth front desk and reservation operations.
• Problem-solving and customer service skills are critical for addressing guest concerns promptly and maintaining high satisfaction levels.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with Marriott or other major hotel brands.
• Certification in hospitality management or related professional credentials.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in overseeing all hotel operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of department managers including front desk, housekeeping, and food and beverage to maintain high standards.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly address any issues or complaints to ensure a positive guest experience.
• Support recruitment, training, and development of staff to build a skilled and motivated team.
• Manage operational budgets, analyze financial reports, and implement cost control measures to meet financial targets.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards across all departments.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop and execute strategies that increase occupancy and revenue.
• Prepare and present regular reports on hotel performance to senior management.
