About The Position

The Assistant General Manager, under the direction of the Regional General Manager, manages daily operations in a million-plus-square-foot distribution center. The role is responsible for the performance of a team of Operations Managers and execution of all facility operational functions. This includes developing and executing daily and weekly operational plans; meeting and exceeding customer service requirements; maximizing facility quality, throughput, and productivity; managing a diverse associate population; fostering a positive, focused, safe, and productive work environment; and ensuring consistent adherence to corporate policies and procedures and implementation of short- and long-term plans.

The role supports a multi-shift distribution operation. The schedule may change based on facility needs and may include mornings, afternoons, nights, and/or weekends. Work takes place in a distribution or warehouse environment with its typical physical and environmental conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• At least 5 years of distribution operations experience in a large-volume, automated distribution center environment.
• At least 4 years of leadership experience with direct-report responsibility.
• Proven record of complying with safety requirements and experience building a culture of safety among subordinates and peers.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access.
• Must work in a distribution or warehouse environment.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Must work a schedule that effectively supports a multi-shift operation; schedule may change based on facility needs, potentially including mornings, afternoons, nights, and/or weekends.
