About The Position

The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for driving and developing the business plan for their area of responsibility to achieve facility goals in production, quality, safety, and operational improvements. This role involves forecasting and managing staffing, workload, and performance results, as well as overseeing financial aspects like expense monitoring and business report analysis. The Assistant General Manager ensures compliance with logistics and company quality and safety standards, resolves associate, customer, and supplier concerns, and acts as a community liaison. Key responsibilities include supervising and managing associates and leaders, providing direction, monitoring performance, identifying training needs, and fostering a culture of belonging, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The role emphasizes attracting and retaining talent, acting with integrity, putting the customer first, and making data-driven decisions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management); and 2 years experience in a senior management role within an operations/distribution/logistics environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide OR 2 years experience as a Walmart Logistics Operations Manager including supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates OR 4 years experience in a senior management role in an operations/distribution/logistics /retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and or in writing e.g. customers suppliers associates
  • Drive develop and implement the business plan for area of responsibility to achieve facility goals e.g. production quality safety and implement operational improvements
  • Forecast and follow up on staffing workload and performance results to meet business demands for workload and performance results
  • Manage assigned financial aspects by monitoring and tracking expenses compared to budget monitoring asset utilization and preparing reviewing and or analyzing business reports
  • Monitor and ensure facility wide compliance with Logistics and company quality and safety standards policies procedures and directives by developing distributing and or maintaining procedures and supporting documentation
  • Investigate and ensure associate customer and supplier concerns are resolved using own judgment or consulting others when needed
  • Serve as a community liaison by participating in local and community organizations and charitable activities champion company sponsored programs and events to associates customers and the local community
  • Supervise and manage associates and leaders in area of responsibility by giving direction communicating goals monitoring performance and providing feedback identifying training and development needs and providing opportunities for learning and growth teaching and supporting Logistics and company policies and procedures and participating in the hiring promotion coaching teaching and evaluation associates facility wide
