About The Position

As the Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Outdoorsy Hill Country, you are the chief champion of the guest journey and a key driver of property revenue. This role is a dynamic hybrid of High-End Hospitality Management, Event Sales, and Beverage Operations. Supporting the General Manager, you will take full ownership of the day-to-day guest experience while turning our 34-acre retreat into the premier destination for Texas Hill Country gatherings. This role requires a flexible schedule, including regular evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts. This is a full-time role reporting directly to the General Manager.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in management, with a heavy focus on daily operations, Food & Beverage (F&B), and Event Sales.
  • Prior experience in boutique hotels, luxury resorts, or high-end hospitality environments is highly valued and considered a strong asset.
  • Current TABC Seller-Server Certification.
  • Current Texas Food Manager Certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business and event needs.
  • Proven track record of hitting sales targets, managing an event lead pipeline, and running tight, efficient daily property operations.
  • Experience managing and inspiring a diverse team (Housekeeping, Maintenance, and FOH).
  • Comfort working in an outdoor environment and the physical ability to navigate 30+ acres of terrain in various weather conditions.
  • You understand the "Outdoorsy" brand—you can talk soil and stargazing with a camper in the morning, manage staff labor metrics at noon, and discuss wine pairings and event contracts with a corporate CEO in the afternoon.

Responsibilities

  • Take ultimate ownership of the end-to-end guest journey, ensuring every visitor receives a seamless, memorable, and upscale "glamping" experience.
  • Maintain a high-visibility presence across the property, actively greeting guests, anticipating needs, and resolving issues on the fly with empathy and professionalism.
  • Monitor guest feedback and reviews, implementing operational changes to continuously elevate satisfaction metrics and repeat bookings.
  • Proactively identify and close leads for Weddings, Corporate Retreats, and Family Reunions. You will be the face of the property for prospective clients.
  • Conduct professional property walkthroughs of the Bluebonnet Event Barn and luxury tents, painting a vision for high-end, nature-focused events.
  • Work to meet and exceed quarterly sales targets for group buyouts and event space rentals.
  • Oversee the Sagebrush Bar operations, ensuring a curated selection of local Hill Country wines, craft beers, and signature cocktails that reflect our brand.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all TABC regulations. You will ensure all bar staff are certified and that service is handled responsibly and legally.
  • Manage beverage inventory, COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), and vendor relationships. Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze P&L statements for the beverage program, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising guest experience.
  • Serve as the Manager on Duty, leading daily huddles with front-of-house, housekeeping, and maintenance teams to ensure the property is visually stunning and operationally ready.
  • Manage weekly staff schedules and labor costs, optimizing coverage to balance daily check-ins, steady-state property needs, and high-volume event weekends.
  • Continuously refine and enforce operational SOPs to maintain service consistency, from luxury tent turnover standards to opening/closing checklists.
  • Act as the primary Certified Food Protection Manager. You will ensure all food handling—whether for our boutique snacks or catered events—meets or exceeds Texas health department standards.
  • Oversee that all team members hold valid Food Handler certifications and are trained in upscale service etiquette.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for event planners and corporate leads, ensuring a seamless transition from "sales" to "execution".
  • Coordinate with preferred caterers, florists, and equipment rentals to ensure external partners respect the property and deliver 5-star service.
