About The Position

MV Transportation is seeking an Assistant General Manager for a proposed business. The role provides support, leadership, and direction to assigned operating personnel to ensure delivery of the division business plan in a fast-paced transit business. The Assistant General Manager directly oversees operations department managers and assumes the General Manager’s responsibilities during their absence.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Certifications required according to the local contract.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures.
Experience developing runs, shift bids, and run cuts.
Strong organizational, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
Strong supervision skills and ability to lead others to success.
Ability to develop solutions to challenges through planning and implementation.
Ability to write and speak English.

Nice To Haves

College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure performance indicators meet or exceed client and corporate expectations.
Ensure division goals and objectives are met or exceeded.
Ensure subordinate staff are well trained and successful.
Ensure company policies and procedures are in place and followed.
Promote understanding and communication of the company vision, values, and culture throughout operations.
Keep liquidated damages to a minimum and ensure failures are corrected.
Develop and maintain positive employee and labor relations.
Directly oversee operations department managers.
Train and mentor a future successor for backfill.
Manage the Operations Department’s annual budget.
Assume responsibility for the General Manager during their absence.
