About The Position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a key leader at Flecha cantina, responsible for supporting the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations. This role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences, managing daily business operations, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment for both staff and guests.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in a high-quality or specialty dining, elevated restaurant setting, with demonstrated experience managing and directing the work of subordinate employees.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for Mexican cuisine and hospitality excellence.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency with restaurant management platforms, POS systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Certification and California RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager with daily restaurant operations over business flow, including the strategic creation of staff schedules and the management of inventory to meet profitability goals.
  • Enforce and uphold the restaurant’s elevated Mexican cuisine standards; exercise independent judgment to ensure food quality, presentation, and service meet brand specifications at all times.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, discipline, and terminate staff, or effectively recommend such actions; maintain a positive and productive work environment in compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Monitor financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profitability; contribute to budgeting and strategic planning.
  • Accountable for resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, food handling, sanitation and labor regulations, including California Wage and hour laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by ownership or regional management.
