About The Position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is the second in command of the hotel, assisting the General Manager (GM) in managing all hotel operations. The AGM ensures operations align with brand standards and corporate values, fostering a friendly and professional atmosphere. This role involves monitoring social media reports and taking charge of the hotel in the GM's absence. The AGM leads by example in upholding the company's values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excitement at all times.

Requirements

  • At least two years of hotel experience as a sales manager, guest service manager, or operations manager.
  • Must be able to drive, walk, speak, hear, see and do moderate physical activity as required.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally in English both oral and written.
  • Must be able to use a computer, use Microsoft Office, Sales Pro and learn other tools.
  • Must meet all Brand and Corporate training as required in a timely manner.
  • Must be willing and able to act as General Manager in his/her absence.
  • No authority to sign contracts or bind the hotel to any agreement other than that which the corporate office has allowed by written policy (sales, banquet, or meeting room nature only).

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree in Hospitality management or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the GM in managing all operations of the hotel in accordance with brand standards and corporate values.
  • Monitor and respond to all Social Media reports.
  • Take charge of the hotel in the absence of the GM.
  • Ensure the values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excitement are in place at all times.
  • Supervise and oversee all hotel associates in cooperation with the GM.
  • Ensure Guest Survey scores are above the Brand system average and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Supervise Guest Services, working with the Guest Services Manager (GSM) and Guest Service Representatives (GSRs) to ensure proper procedures and excellent guest service.
  • Work with the Executive Housekeeper, GSM, and Chief Engineer to ensure immediate resolution of issues and availability of necessary tools.
  • Assist in Hiring and Separation decisions/procedures.
  • Attend Breakfast meetings and interact with guests as required.
  • Be involved in all interviewing of candidates for any position within the hotel.
  • Work in any department as needed in the absence of the department head or if the department requires additional support.
  • Lead the orientation of new associates, including property tours, training programs, and other new hire support.
  • Assist the GM with payroll, Human Resources, and Time and Labor.
  • Work with all department heads on scheduling, training, supplies, compliance, and process improvements.
  • Conduct daily guestroom and property inspections.
  • Assist in the preparation and follow-up of the Sales and Marketing Plan, Budget, and month-end reporting.
  • Ensure all requests from the Corporate Office are met on time.
  • Perform any other duties that may arise during the operation of the hotel.
  • Make any and all decisions necessary for the successful operation of the hotel in the absence of the GM, within the limits of corporate policy.
  • Be responsible for the achievement of top-line revenues and bottom-line profits as outlined in the Sales and Marketing Plan and on the Hotel Budget.
  • Be responsible for any cash signed for and ensure all bank deposits are completed daily.
  • Act as General Manager in his/her absence.
