About The Position

A Werner Enterprises Final Mile Delivery Assistant Manager (or Dedicated Logistics Assistant Manager) helps oversee last-mile logistics, white-glove services, and cross-dock operations. The role bridges the gap between drivers, clients, and the corporate office to ensure efficient, safe, and on-time deliveries.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 2–3 years of transportation, dispatch, or fleet management experience.
  • Supervisory experience is highly desired.
  • Strong proficiency in logistics software, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and dispatch portals.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain is preferred, though relevant work experience is often considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising, training, and evaluating drivers, helpers, and dispatch staff.
  • Oversee outbound load scheduling, routing, cross-dock activities, and manifest execution.
  • Act as the primary liaison between e-commerce clients, traditional brick-and-mortar stores, and the end consumer.
  • Address and resolve delivery or scheduling issues.
  • Enforce federal, state, and corporate safety regulations.
  • Audit driver logs and ensure vehicle compliance.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like on-time delivery percentages, revenue per truck, and idle reduction.
