Assistant General Manager - Room Service - Mandalay Bay
About The Position
As the Assistant General Manager of Room Service at Mandalay Bay, you will support the General Manager in leading the Assistant Managers and Restaurant Service team, ensuring alignment with MGM Resorts’ brand standards. You will drive operational excellence and financial performance, oversee staff scheduling, performance, and development, and execute key initiatives from property Food & Beverage leadership. You will also ensure facilities and service standards are consistently maintained. A strong focus on guest satisfaction is essential, delivering exceptional and memorable experiences. All responsibilities are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience required
- Must be 21 years of age or older
Nice To Haves
- amenity experience preferred
- Previous experience managing employees under a collective bargaining agreement preferred
- Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager for Food and Beverage operations in a resort or similar environment preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily operations, fiscal budgets, labor productivity, scheduling, inventory control, guest service standards, and execution of marketing strategies to produce short-term profitability.
- Execute on the restaurant’s business plan and assist General Manager with developing and executing tactics to achieve goals and targets.
- Assist General Manager with managing Human Resources responsibilities to creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback (coaching and counseling), recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning process that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; adherence to the company’s status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies, legal requirements, employment law, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Interacts with guests frequently to ensure satisfaction and enjoyment of dining experience. Reacts to any guest complaints and takes any appropriate action.
- Manages guest feedback channels through approved company practices.
- Work alongside the culinary team to ensure a seamless service experience between kitchen and dining room.
- Responsible for execution of policies, operating procedures, training programs and menus.
- Maintain the highest standards of health, sanitation and cleanliness within all areas.
- Responsible for completion of all company compliance training by the restaurant staff.
- Maintains excellent knowledge of venue’s food & beverage products, menu items and equipment used to perform duties.
