We are looking for an Assistant General Manager, Operations & Member Experience to help lead the business alongside ownership and senior leadership as we continue to grow. This is a leadership position for someone who can operate at a high level while staying deeply connected to the member experience and day-to-day culture of the gym. This person will work closely with leadership to oversee daily operations, support and develop team members, improve systems and processes, and ensure every member interaction reflects the values and standards of Breuckelen Athletic. The ideal candidate is a calm problem solver, highly organized, emotionally intelligent, and deeply invested in creating a world-class member experience. They should be equally comfortable leading a team, solving operational challenges, jumping into front-of-house responsibilities, and helping shape the future growth of the business. This is not a traditional corporate management role. We are looking for someone who leads with humility, accountability, empathy, and initiative. With potential to grow into a larger operational leadership position over time.

Responsibilities

  • Help lead daily operations across the facility.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and development of member experience staff.
  • Create clear expectations, accountability, and consistency across shifts and systems.
  • Act as a leadership presence during peak operational hours.
  • Help build a team culture rooted in professionalism, empathy, ownership, and hospitality.
  • Coach staff through challenges and difficult member situations with maturity and composure.
  • Ensure the gym operates smoothly, efficiently, and at a consistently high standard.
  • Identify operational gaps and proactively solve problems before they become larger issues.
  • Improve workflows, SOPs, communication systems, and operational processes.
  • Oversee facility presentation, organization, maintenance coordination, and inventory systems.
  • Partner with leadership on operational planning, reporting, and execution.
  • Help manage vendors, operational technology, and facility logistics.
  • Set the standard for hospitality and member interaction.
  • Build strong relationships with members and contribute to the overall community experience.
  • Handle escalated member concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Ensure every touchpoint, from tours to daily interactions, reflects the Breuckelen Athletic brand.
  • Work closely with coaches and staff to create a seamless experience across training, recovery, and operations.
  • Support retention, member engagement, and operational growth initiatives.
  • Assist with events, partnerships, and community activations.
  • Contribute ideas that improve operational efficiency and member satisfaction.
  • Help ownership execute on larger business priorities and projects.
  • Serve as a reliable second-in-command capable of helping drive the business forward.
