About The Position

Join the Mountaineer Lodge/ Vantage Hotels Team! We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Front Desk Manager / Assistant Manager to lead our front desk operations at the beautiful Mountaineer Lodge in Lake Louise. This is an operational leadership role where you’ll be the face of our hotel, ensuring every guest feels welcomed and cared for while keeping the front desk running smoothly 24/7. Requirements

  • Previous hotel front desk experience (supervisory or leadership experience preferred).
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to remain calm, positive, and solution-focused under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — you build great relationships with guests and team members.
  • Proficiency with hotel property management systems (experience with Opera or similar is a plus).
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid work authorization in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid driver’s license is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and schedule the front desk team to deliver outstanding guest service aligned with Vantage’s values: Love it, Own it, Share it, Solve it, Laugh.
  • Handle all front desk functions including check-ins/outs, reservations, billing, and guest inquiries with professionalism and warmth.
  • Cover front desk shifts as needed (days, evenings, nights, weekends) to support 24/7 operations and maintain service standards during peak times or staffing gaps.
  • Manage day-to-day operational tasks: room assignments, upselling, handling guest concerns, and coordinating with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments.
  • Monitor and improve front desk processes, guest feedback, and revenue opportunities (e.g., upselling rooms and services).
  • Support training, performance management, and development of front desk staff.
  • Assist with night audit processes, reports, and administrative duties as required.
  • Act as Manager on Duty when scheduled, ensuring smooth hotel operations.
