About The Position

Under general administrative direction of the General Manager, this upper management position is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the long-range and short-term electrical services system planning and electrical services management activities including direct oversight of electrical engineering, field operation, grid system operation, and ongoing operations analysis and improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in electrical engineering, including four years in a senior managerial capacity in an electric utility system is required.
  • Registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer with the State of California.
  • A valid California Class C Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions is required (for staff without a valid California Class C Driver’s License).

Nice To Haves

  • Direct management experience overseeing electrical engineering, field operation and grid system operation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, directing and controlling the long-range and short-term electrical services system planning and electrical services management activities.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all employees, customers, vendors and other City departments.
