The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a key operational leader responsible for supporting the General Manager in all aspects of dispensary performance. The AGM drives operational excellence, regulatory compliance, financial performance, inventory integrity, and exceptional guest experiences while developing high-performing teams. This position serves as the acting General Manager when required and plays a critical role in executing company initiatives, coaching leaders, and maintaining The Garden's culture of accountability.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three or more years of retail leadership experience.
  • Experience leading teams, coaching performance, and managing KPIs.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Cannabis industry leadership experience.
  • Experience with METRC and Dutchie.
  • Bachelor degree in Business or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Ohio Division of Cannabis Control (DCC) regulations, company SOPs, and security requirements.
  • Support METRC compliance, inventory controls, audits, and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and investigate operational discrepancies.
  • Lead daily store operations and ensure efficient opening and closing procedures.
  • Support labor management, scheduling, payroll accuracy, and productivity goals.
  • Drive sales performance through KPI management including AOV, UPT, loyalty capture, and customer service metrics.
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop supervisors and team members.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching, performance evaluations, and development planning.
  • Promote accountability, recognition, and succession planning.
  • Ensure every guest receives a compliant, educational, and welcoming experience.
  • Resolve escalated guest concerns professionally.
  • Coach teams on product knowledge, sales behaviors, and service standards.
  • Review daily operational reports and KPIs.
  • Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Communicate results and action plans effectively across the leadership team.
