About The Position

This person will work alongside the General Manager to ensure the quality and success of the facility, while gleaning the knowledge and experience necessary to run a StarCenter. The functions of this job will encompass all daily operations including staffing, court management, and providing outstanding customer service experience to all patrons. The Assistant General Manager must work closely with the management team and must step in and assist in each area if needs arise. This position is not eligible for remote work.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent experience is recommended
  • High level of basketball, pickleball and/or volleyball is recommended
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Proven organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate regularly with the General Manager on day-to-day facility operations
  • Make sure staff are properly trained in customer relations and retention techniques
  • Oversee all training programs for front desk and event staff
  • Develop new business opportunities and promote revenue growth, while maintaining existing income sources
  • Manage and ensure the financial success of the Future Stars Recreational Volleyball and Basketball Leagues, including scheduling officials and ordering uniforms and awards
  • Help manage all internal camps and clinics
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the community and local organizations
  • Handle daily deposits, prepare reports as requested by Multisport management, reconcile facility logs, and manage orders and inventory for facility supplies
  • Process and verify payroll information for direct reports
  • Create and manage a contact database for all event guests to support promotional activities
  • Create manager-on-duty schedules
  • Assist in negotiating and analyzing all facility related contracts and court rentals
  • Be an on-site lead for special events as required
  • Training and delegation of game schedule audits, court maintenance in system
  • Cash management for all POS systems regarding court sports
  • Serve as Manager on Duty for a minimum of four (4) prime time shifts per week including weeknights and weekends
