About The Position

Mercer University is searching for an Assistant General Counsel on the Macon, Georgia campus. This role works independently to assist the General Counsel in the management and performance of legal services to the University. The scope of work includes employment matters, contracts, corporate law, intellectual property, litigation management, employee and student-related issues, compliance matters, healthcare law, immigration law, real estate law, higher education law, and research.

Requirements

A JD degree from an accredited college/university is required.
Three years of legal experience as an attorney.
Must have a current Georgia law license and be admitted to the State Bar of Georgia.
Candidates must possess superior oral and written communication skills.
Must have proven ability to resolve complicated and sensitive problems with professional discretion.
Must have the ability to interact with a diverse community of stakeholders.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier.
