Assistant/Full Professor of Clinical Psychology
About The Position
The Department of Psychology and Sociology at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Full Professor of Clinical Psychology to begin in Fall 2027. The department offers undergraduate and master's programs in Psychology, with consideration for developing a PhD in Clinical Psychology. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and master's level courses, mentor students in research and clinical supervision, and engage in service activities. TAMU-CC is an R2 University with a growing research focus, and candidates are expected to have a record of or potential for research productivity and external funding. The university is a vibrant, Hispanic and Minority Serving R2 Doctoral Research Institution located on its own island on the Texas Gulf Coast, offering a unique and scenic environment.
Requirements
- Earned Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program (expected by start of appointment for Assistant rank).
- Licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in the state of Texas at the time of appointment.
- For Full Professor rank: a minimum of ten (10) years of full-time university faculty experience with a minimum of four (4) years of experience at the associate rank or comparable rank.

- Independent Clinical experience or research focused in Clinical Psychology.
- Experience and/or ability to teach/develop courses at the master’s and undergraduate level.
- A record of, or potential for, research productivity and a clear research agenda.
- Interest and/or experience in seeking external funding for research.
- A record of mentoring students in research and supervising clinical students.
Responsibilities
- Teach clinical psychology courses at the undergraduate and master’s level, which may include courses in psychological assessment, psychopathology, and psychotherapy.
- Develop courses in their area of specialization.
- Mentor student research and supervise master’s thesis students.
- Provide clinical supervision to master’s level students.
- Actively engage in service to the department, college, university, and profession.
- Pursue external funding for research.
