About The Position

Crystal Finishing Systems is seeking an Assistant Freight & Logistics Manager to help lead our Crystal Freight operations. This role is responsible for supporting the daily management of dispatch, driver operations, fleet utilization, DOT compliance, safety programs, and customer logistics activities. The ideal candidate is an organized, decisive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing operational efficiency, customer service, and team development.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of transportation, logistics, dispatching, or fleet management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Experience with scheduling, dispatching, and fleet operations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL and budgeting experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing daily freight, dispatch, and fleet operations.
  • Maximize fleet utilization by coordinating company loads and third-party carriers.
  • Partner with production teams, customers, satellite facilities, drivers, and dispatchers to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Support driver onboarding, training, and ongoing communication.
  • Monitor DOT, FMCSA, CSA, and safety compliance requirements.
  • Participate in driver safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Serve as a liaison between drivers, dispatch, and the truck maintenance team.
  • Help develop and improve logistics processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Support profitability initiatives through efficient scheduling, routing, and cost management.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to team members.
