About The Position

Join Our Team as an Assistant Finance Manager at Johnson Electric! Location: Ancaster, ON (Onsite) Department: Finance Salary Range: $100-120K annually Vacancy Type: Existing Position Travel: May be required As our next Assistant Finance Manager, you will play a key leadership role in managing plant financial performance, reporting, forecasting, and compliance. You will support senior leadership with accurate financial insights while overseeing core accounting processes, continuous improvement tracking, and staff development within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in Business with an Accounting major
  • CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA) completed or in progress
  • 8–10 years of progressive finance experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS and manufacturing accounting
  • Experience in a global manufacturing environment; automotive experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems such as Hyperion and Cognos
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, operations teams, auditors, and corporate finance
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining plant financial control systems, including financial statements and KPIs
  • Preparing weekly and monthly sales reports by part and platform
  • Developing monthly management reporting packages with financial bridges and variance analysis
  • Preparing and maintaining Product Line Financials to assess profitability, margins, and customer quotations
  • Reviewing and tracking Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and financial impact
  • Preparing balance sheet review packages in compliance with IFRS requirements
  • Submitting monthly financial results to the parent company using Cognos
  • Preparing year‑end audit files and supporting external audit activities
  • Tracking capital expenditure budgets and monitoring authorized spend levels
  • Monitoring significant commercial issues impacting financial performance
  • Preparing annual business plans, capital budgets, and rolling monthly forecasts
  • Performing CAPEX payback and ROI analysis and managing the IPP process
  • Leading full‑cycle monthly close activities, including A/R, A/P, inventory, and fixed assets
  • Ensuring General Ledger mapping aligns with parent company standards
  • Managing project costing systems for tooling, capital projects, and SR&ED initiatives
  • Supervising invoice processing and managing cash disbursement timing
  • Preparing cash flow forecasts and analyzing free cash flow
  • Leading, coaching, and developing Finance team members
  • Ensuring compliance with all Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety systems
