About The Position

The City of Ada is hiring a full-time Assistant Finance Director. The selected individual will work in close collaboration with, and under the direction and supervision of, the Finance Director/Treasurer to support the planning, directing, management, and oversight of all activities and operations within the finance division. The position requires financial management or accounting experience, including internal auditing, as well as management and administrative experience. A bachelor’s degree with major coursework in accounting is required. The employee must possess or be able to obtain an appropriate, valid Municipal Clerks and Treasurers certification annually. The role requires knowledge of governmental accounting theory, principles and practices, internal control procedures necessary to safeguard assets, and federal and state grants. A medical examination and drug screen will be administered upon offer of employment.

Requirements

• Five years of increasingly responsible financial management or accounting experience, including internal auditing.
• Three years of management and administrative responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Municipal Clerks and Treasurers certification annually.
• Knowledge of governmental accounting theory, principles and practices.
• Knowledge of internal control procedures necessary to safeguard assets.
• Knowledge of federal and state grants.
