About The Position

This role assists in the efficient and accurate mixing, blending, and cooking of raw ingredients. The position involves operating equipment safely, including forklifts and pallet jacks, and requires LOTO certification. Responsibilities also include attending training, potentially training new staff, and adhering to all food and employee safety policies, GMPs, SOPs, and allergen control programs. Accurate and honest completion of required paperwork is essential. If monitoring CCPs, HACCP training and adherence to the HACCP plan are required. The role also involves reporting suspicious activities.

Requirements

  • Basic Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Basic organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic multitasking ability.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use PDTs, Digital HMI Screens/Chart Recorders.
  • Must be LOTO (Lockout / Tagout) Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Blender Operator(s) with the efficient and accurate processing of finished food grade products.
  • Assist with set up/break down of equipment as needed.
  • Check-in ingredients, matching them to the recipe and communicating any discrepancies.
  • Follow the recipe with no deviations.
  • Assist with run tests to ensure product meets viscosity and sensory requirements before filling.
  • Learn how to operate and adjust multiple in-line pieces of processing equipment.
  • Assist with lifting in a variety of areas/lines.
  • Communicate effectively with peers and FSQA to meet quality standards and efficient processing.
  • Identify ingredients (bases, diced vs. sliced, etc.).
  • Operate various types of equipment safely.
  • Operate forklifts, manual and/or electric pallet jacks (Plant Certification required).
  • Attend training made available in relation to job description.
  • Ability to train new staff within the department if needed.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and honestly.
  • Adhere to all corporate GMPs, established SOPs, and all Food and Employee Safety policies.
  • Adhere to all Allergen control programs and procedures as applicable.
  • Report suspicious packages, activities, and individuals.
  • If monitoring CCPs, must be trained in HACCP and adhere to the approved HACCP plan(s).
