We’re looking for an Assistant Sod Farm Manager to help oversee daily operations and support the production of high-quality turf-grass. In this role, you’ll work closely with the farm manager to coordinate crews, maintain equipment, and ensure efficient, timely harvests. If you’re proactive, detail-oriented, and thrive in an outdoor, team-focused environment, we’d love to hear from you. As a Super-Sod Assistant Farm Manager, you will be responsible for leading machine operators and farm crews in the day-to-day operations of harvesting and other farm-related activities. You’ll play a key role in maintaining productivity and efficiency across the farm, ensuring that people, equipment, and materials are working in sync. Your leadership will help drive continuous improvement, with a strong focus on both customer satisfaction and team performance.

Requirements

  • Agriculture/Farm Operations experience
  • Pesticide Applicator License

Nice To Haves

  • Secondary Education in Turf Management, Ag Business, or related experience.
  • Managerial/Team Leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Manages policy deployment in the areas of lean harvesting techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and performance measures.
  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
  • Manages material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
  • Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
  • Balances work cell capacity/loading across the farm.
  • Determines operations head count needs and ensures compliance with company policies.
  • Research equipment for future company needs for capital investments and improvement projects.
  • Manages compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Oversees operational proficiency of farming equipment in use for harvesting, mowing, spraying and fertilizing for production and training.
  • Incorporates new technologies into all areas of our business.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
