About The Position
Forgotten Harvest Farms is a non-profit farm dedicated to growing and distributing fresh, nutritious food to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Our farm relies on a combination of staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure that healthy produce reaches those who need it most. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Farm Assistant who is passionate about agriculture, community service, and making a meaningful impact. The Farm Assistant supports day-to-day farm operations and works closely with the Farm Manager to help maintain productive fields, greenhouses, and harvest operations. This role also involves assisting with volunteer groups and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for all who visit the farm.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Interest in farming, food systems, or nonprofit work
- Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Comfortable working with volunteers of all ages and backgrounds
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn

- Prior farm experience
Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, cultivating, weeding, and harvesting a variety of crops
- Support greenhouse operations and seasonal farm projects
- Help prepare produce for distribution to partner agencies
- Assist with set-up, coordination, and guidance of volunteer groups
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas
- Follow all safety and food-handling guidelines
- Perform other farm-related duties as needed
