About The Position

HP is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to provide expert support in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and company security standards. The AFSO will assist in managing the overall security program and proactively support federal customer engagement efforts, supporting customer assessments and implementing security measures across multiple programs. This role requires a strong understanding of the NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117) and adaptability for streamlining and modernizing security workflows to ensure continuous improvement and operational efficiency, while upholding the highest level of professionalism and ethical conduct, consistently adhering to HP’s core values of integrity, trust, and respect in all security operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma.
  • 4+ years of directly related personnel/industrial security experience as an AFSO or FSO under DOD.
  • Obtained non-possessing or possessing FSO certification from DCSA.
  • Proficient with MS Office 365, particularly with Excel and PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.
  • 3+ years of direct experience with NBIS, DISS, and NISS.
  • Excellent ability to multitask and work independently, proactively, and efficiently.
  • Knowledge and experience handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), applying safeguarding requirements, and providing guidance to company personnel.
  • Highly professional, ethical, and possessing the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing modernization of security operations and driving agile practices that enhance responsiveness and effectiveness.
  • Direct experience developing and maintaining robust Security Standard Practices & Procedures (SPP) and other security related policies, procedures, and plans.
  • Self-motivated, dynamic, and professional team player, with initiative and excellent customer service skills.
  • Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Adheres to strict confidentiality practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Familiarity with CMMC Level 1 and Level 2 requirements and NIST 800-171 compliance.
  • Prior experience supporting multiple security programs with a variety of government agencies.
  • Knowledge of OPSEC planning and implementation for federal programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, administration, and maintenance of program security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule.
  • Assist with personnel processing, security briefings/debriefings, document/material marking and control, security education and awareness, visitor control, program reviews, audits and metrics reviews, and violation investigations and documentation.
  • Maintain Facility Clearance documentation and submissions in accordance with DCSA requirements.
  • Administer personnel security clearance processes using DISS and NBIS for initial submissions, upgrades, maintenance, and periodic reinvestigations.
  • Initiate, process, and review personnel security clearance actions and provide support and mitigation suggestions.
  • Maintain all required security documentation (DD 254, SF 328, SF 312, DD 441, etc.).
  • Provide guidance to staff on completing security paperwork and electronic fingerprinting; track completion and proactively assist others to ensure updates are received.
  • Initiate and maintain visit requests and foreign travel briefings and debriefings through DISS.
  • Maintain the security actions tracker daily and follow up on needed updates proactively.
  • Proactively update and maintain HP’s Facility Clearance profile within NISS.
  • Advise personnel on reporting requirements for compliance and incident-related reports.
  • Maintain strong and positive working relationships with DCSA and other Federal agency personnel.
  • Meet regularly with program and federal sales team members.
  • Help administer the Insider Threat Plan and ensure awareness, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Assist in maintaining Security Standard Practices & Procedures (SPP) and policies, procedures, and plans.
  • Support annual self-inspections, customer inspections and reporting, and maintain accurate record keeping.
  • Provide security support for proposal activities.
  • Support customer-facing colleagues with initiative and collaboration.
