About The Position

The Assistant Facility Manager will support our Critical Solutions team. We provide mission critical system maintenance, repair and facility management services for clients across the United States. This assistant role is responsible for providing client services and Account management support to the Facility Manager. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills, Account management experience and a HVAC/mechanical background. As an Assistant Facility Manager you will use your creativity and organizational skills to manage accounts, and move Accounts forward in a fast paced environment providing follow-up through to completion.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in facilities management, building, business or other related field required
  • A minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience, preferably in commercial or industrial real estate with facility management experience required
  • Experience in maintenance, construction, engineering and all facets of property operation and building management preferred
  • CMMS/Work Order Management experience is preferred
  • Ability to read and understand construction specifications and blueprints
  • Proficient in understanding management agreements and contract language
  • Skilled in Building Management Systems maintenance and monitoring
  • Excellent computer and systems knowledge; Strong literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong discipline of financial management including financial tracking, budgeting and forecasting
  • Knowledge of Financial Systems (Yardi a plus)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM), International Facilities Management Association (IFMA), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) industry certifications recommended; other Engineering, Business or technical training or certifications a plus

Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external contacts to achieve mutual objectives
  • Attending meetings (In-house), analyzing Account resource requirements
  • Surveying existing client needs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and gathering necessary data as well as to meet deadlines
  • Managing service/repair through to completion, managing proposals and costs
  • Collaborating with Operations regarding price, delivery and other specs for client needs
  • Coordinating repairs & installations through our vendors and all stakeholders
  • Supervising these jobs including leveraging your expertise to solve emergent operational problems
  • Assisting in writing letters, memos, contracts, change orders and other documents related to the Account
  • Providing the customer with timely updates throughout each project
