About The Position

The Assistant Chief Steward is responsible for supervising and training stewarding staff, ensuring all outlets are closed down properly and ready for the next day, and that outlets are running smoothly. This role involves performing daily safety and sanitation walk-throughs, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed, and leading by example. The Assistant Chief Steward will also lead staff in the performance of operating procedures and ensure performance levels are met. Daily assignments of duties will also be part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

• Functional understanding of banquet stewarding responsibilities and procedures – required
• Operational understanding of ware washing operations and procedures - required
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Computer Skills – to include making / understanding Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word documents
• Able to read, write, speak and communicate English clearly
• Able to give clear instructions and direct the work force. May need to communicate with guests, other departments, etc.
• WV Food Handler’s Permit (will provide)
• WV Driver’s License
• Learn and apply the hotel and union policies
• Beginner level proficiency in Word Processing
• Beginner level proficiency in Spreadsheet software
• Intermediate level proficiency with Internet usage
