About The Position

The Arc, Ocean County Chapter is seeking an experienced and visionary Assistant Executive Director of Residential Services to provide executive leadership for one of New Jersey's largest and most respected providers of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is an exceptional opportunity for a collaborative leader who is passionate about delivering high quality services, building strong teams, and driving operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this executive leader will oversee all Residential Services operations while providing strategic oversight of the Agency's Maintenance Department, ensuring safe, compliant, and person-centered environments for the individuals we support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Special Education, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience managing multiple programs and supervisory staff.
  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and organizational leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of DDD regulations, Medicaid requirements, and residential service delivery.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Valid New Jersey Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for all Residential Services operations, ensuring high quality, person-centered supports across multiple residential locations.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives that improve operational effectiveness, service quality, and organizational performance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Directors and Assistant Directors while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance with all applicable licensing, Medicaid, accreditation, and funding requirements.
  • Direct Quality Assurance initiatives by monitoring performance metrics and implementing system-wide improvements.
  • Provide fiscal leadership by developing, managing, and monitoring departmental budgets.
  • Oversee admissions, referrals, and service coordination in partnership with the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and Support Coordination Agencies.
  • Provide executive oversight of the Agency's Maintenance Department, ensuring agency facilities, equipment, vehicles, and grounds remain safe, well maintained, and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop long-term facility improvement strategies, capital projects, and preventive maintenance initiatives.
  • Serve as an executive representative of the Agency with regulatory agencies, community partners, families, and other stakeholders.
