About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is recruiting for an Assistant Executive Chef for its Lake Tahoe campus. This role supports operations in The Social House, Catering Events, Coffee venue service, and Community engagement events. The Assistant Executive Chef works closely with the Executive Chef to ensure quality products and guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities include assisting with ordering goods and services, inventory control, product rotation, equipment maintenance, food and beverage production and execution, and ensuring adherence to health code standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma and three years of related work experience; OR an associate’s degree and two years of related work experience; OR a bachelor's degree and one year of related work experience; OR a master’s degree and no work experience required
• Related experience: Experience with menu planning and implementation, event management, supervision of line/prep cooks, or similar work
• TAM (Techniques of Alcohol Management) or equivalent certification or licensure
• ServSafe Certification or equivalent certification or licensure

Responsibilities

• Supporting successful operations in The Social House, Catering Events, Coffee venue service, and all Community engagement events
• Working closely with the Executive Chef to ensure quality products are served and guest’s expectations are fulfilled
• Assisting with ordering all goods and services necessary to the operation
• Assisting with inventory control and product rotation
• Maintaining all equipment and physical assets
• Production and execution of food and beverage
• Ensuring all health code standards are upheld and followed
