About The Position

The Assistant Equipment Technician assists the Equipment Manager in the repair and maintenance of motorized equipment; does a variety of mechanical work and maintenance work independently; services motorized equipment; and, does related work as assigned by the Equipment Manager.

Requirements

• Requires working knowledge of general operation of gasoline, diesel and electric equipment.
• Knowledge of proper methods of servicing golf course equipment.
• Working knowledge of the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment.
• Requires mechanical dexterity and usage of common mechanical tools. Good aptitude for mechanical repair work methods.
• Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees and the public. Requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written direction.
• Requires a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and adjusts the engines and cutting mechanisms of a wide variety of heavy and light mowing equipment.
• Does work overhauling and repairing automotive and other powered equipment including engines, brakes, transmissions, differentials, springs and mufflers.
• Secures and replaces tools and parts; cleans working areas after repairs are completed; lubricates and services automotive equipment.
• Assists in electric gas welding.
• Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies and makes routine adjustments where necessary.
