Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus three years of relevant experience in golf course equipment mechanics (or a combination of education and experience).
  • Must be at least 18 years old, meeting Florida labor law requirements for operating heavy machinery.
  • A valid driver’s license and comfort operating golf course vehicles.
  • Working knowledge of electric and gas-powered carts, engines, and hydraulics.
  • A meticulous attention to detail and the ability to uphold the highest quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in a variety of golf course vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist the Equipment Mechanic in prioritizing repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Independently perform preventative maintenance and adjust engines, cutting mechanisms, and other components of motorized and mechanized equipment.
  • Use grinders to sharpen mowing equipment and maintain cutting precision.
  • Ensure all equipment is fueled, lubricated, and ready for action.
  • Demonstrate and train maintenance staff on the proper use of new equipment.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of parts, identifying and ordering items as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean, safe working environment.
  • Support the Agronomy Team with mowing and other operational activities as needed.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of high-quality course equipment and facilities.
  • Attend team meetings, maintain proactive communication, and adhere to all club policies.
