About The Position

Early Media is creating and distributing groundbreaking original series. We craft narratives with viral potential while preserving the heart of indie production, telling meaningful stories audiences actually care about. Every creative decision is sharpened by a proprietary testing and marketing engine that collapses the distance between filmmaker and audience into the tightest iteration loop in the industry.
We're hiring an Assistant Editor to keep footage, projects, and post pipelines moving from set to delivery. You'll cycle through our producing, editing, and finishing duties, working directly under producers, editors, and finishing artists to build the full skill set of a working post professional.

Requirements

• A relentless problem-solver that learns fast and finds fixes.
• Fluent in Premiere Pro, sync sound, proxy, and multicam workflows, and comfortable in DaVinci Resolve for prep, conform, and delivery.
• Detail-obsessed. A mislabeled reel, orphaned file, or a skipped backup is not acceptable to you.
• Communicates clearly with editors, producers, and finishing artists without needing hand-holding.
• Willing to work on set when production needs media management support, not just from a desk.
• Passionate about post-production with a desire to learn and develop your skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as an assistant editor with a larger team working on multiple projects in different stages of post.
• Familiar with prepping sequences for color and conforming from Premiere to Davinci Resolve.
• Good instincts for pulling music, stock, and graphics options that actually fit a scene.
• Interest in eventually specializing in producing, editing, or finishing.
• Comfortable traveling for production support when needed.
• Working knowledge of color and mix delivery specs.

Responsibilities

• Own ingest: get footage off cards, backed up safely, organized, and proxies generated so editorial is setup well.
• Build and maintain clean Premiere projects. Sync audio, pull selects, and organize bins, and assemble scenes so editors hit the ground running.
• Move media through its full lifecycle. Tracking all the data from production through to delivery and archive with nothing lost and everything findable.
• Assist the editor. Cut scenes, pull selects, find assets, and address notes from stakeholders, all under the editor's direction.
• Manage finishing workflow: Conform locked sequences into Resolve, build AAFs, prep VFX pulls, and handle final layback and delivery once mix, color, and graphics land.
• Assist on set as media manager: Prep drives for production, manage the media from set safely onto backups, and ingest the footage for QC and playback.
