SUMMARY: Assist in the technical aspect of prescription fulfillment, assist with the provision of pharmaceutical services as needed, participate in the maintenance and operation of the pharmacy in accordance with pharmacy practice standards, and provide superior, timely, and pleasant customer service.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Experience in a pharmacy is an asset.
Effective organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail.

Diploma from a recognized pharmacy technician course, preferably.

Responsibilities

Greet the customer quickly and collect prescription information according to standards.
Perform tasks in priority according to the role assigned on the role assignment board.
Consult the pharmacist for all clinical questions.
Set realistic expectations regarding customer wait times.
Look up and process payment for prescriptions and related items.
Ensure customers requiring advice are directed to the pharmacist.
Maintain and control the pharmacy till.
Comply with all confidentiality and privacy requirements.
Receive new prescriptions and renewals according to standard operating procedures.
Prepare and submit orders with the exception of controlled drugs and narcotics.
Verify online third-party billing and manually manage third-party accounts.
Answer the telephone and consult a pharmacist as needed.
Manage received faxes according to pharmacy practice standards.
Assist the pharmacist in coordinating recalls.
Accurately file completed documents according to pharmacy practice standards.
Participate in the preparation of prescriptions according to company standards and professional services.
Enter data for new prescriptions and manage the processing of renewal requests.
Select medications to fill prescriptions according to pharmacy practice standards.
Count or measure medications, package and label prescriptions efficiently according to pharmacy standards.
Accurately enter and maintain required data in the relevant pharmacy systems.
