The Bronx District Attorney’s Office is hiring an entry-level Assistant District Attorney to serve Bronx County and pursue justice with integrity. The position commences on March 8, 2027. Attorneys receive significant responsibility early in their careers and extensive courtroom experience from the outset. Under experienced supervisors, they handle court appearances, hearings, motion practice, evidentiary proceedings, and trials, with opportunities to develop litigation skills and take on serious and complex cases as they become proficient. Attorneys must commit to three years of initial service to the Office. Following training, attorneys are typically assigned to misdemeanor practice in either the General Crimes Bureau within the Trial Division or the Domestic Violence Bureau within the Special Victims Division. After approximately 18–24 months, attorneys may be eligible to transition to felony trial or investigative work based on demonstrated readiness. Specialized bureaus offer opportunities to handle more complex cases, develop advanced trial skills, and take on increased responsibility. The Office provides a comprehensive training and professional development program, including hands-on litigation training, continuing legal education, simulation-based exercises, mentorship, advanced instruction in specialized practice areas, hands-on supervision, and collaborative case review. BXDA describes its environment as collaborative and mission-driven, valuing professionalism, integrity, wellness, and continuous learning.
