The Bronx District Attorney’s Office is hiring Entry-Level Assistant District Attorneys commencing September 7, 2027. Assistant District Attorneys receive extensive courtroom experience and significant responsibility early in their careers. Under experienced supervisors, they build litigation skills through regular court appearances, hearings, motion practice, evidentiary proceedings, and trials. Attorneys must commit to three years of initial service and may be assigned evening, night, weekend, and holiday work. They may also be required to respond on a 24-hour basis to crime scenes, police precincts, and booking facilities. Following training, attorneys are typically assigned to misdemeanor practice in either the General Crimes Bureau within the Trial Division or the Domestic Violence Bureau within the Special Victims Division. After approximately 18–24 months, attorneys may be eligible to move to a felony trial or investigative bureau based on demonstrated readiness. Specialized bureaus offer opportunities to handle more complex cases, develop advanced trial skills, and assume increased responsibility. The office provides hands-on litigation training, continuing legal education, simulation-based exercises, mentorship, advanced instruction in specialized practice areas, hands-on supervision, collaborative case review, and ongoing professional development. Salary is $85,000 for attorneys not admitted to the New York State Bar and $90,000 for admitted attorneys.
