About The Position

As the Assistant Director at Goodstart Wantirna, you'll leverage your expertise and leadership to inspire and motivate your centre team, driving continuous improvement across all areas of centre operations. Collaborate with our dedicated leadership team, forge respectful and reciprocal relationships with families, and actively engage with the local community networks. This role is ideal for a confident and experienced early childhood leader who can drive consistency, mentor educators and embed best practice. Goodstart Wantirna is a 120-place purpose-built long day care centre located at 309 Mountain Highway. Featuring five spacious learning environments and three outdoor play areas, our centre provides high-quality education and care for children from nursery through to kindergarten, with a strong focus on play-based learning and school readiness.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Assistant Director or in a centre leadership position, or similar
• Must have or obtain a valid working with children check

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Director in the leadership of the team to provide high-quality early learning and care
• Mentor and build capabilities within the centre team
• Be responsible for the overall management of the centre in the Centre Director’s absence
• Use and implement the Goodstart Practice Guide
• Support the Centre Director in leading daily operations and centre performance
• Provide strong leadership, coaching and development to educators
• Embed and drive quality practices aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
• Ensure compliance with NQS, regulatory standards and policies
• Build strong relationships with children, families and the community
• Contribute to continuous improvement and quality outcomes
• Work within a full-time rotating roster and support across rooms as required
