About The Position

This role contributes to the fulfillment of the University’s mission and vision by monitoring and ensuring institutional compliance with federal, state, local, and institutional regulations, guidelines, and policies related to student financial aid administration. This role provides quality service and information regarding the full spectrum of student financial aid (SFA) resources to graduate and professional students, their families, University academic and business offices, and outside agencies. This role’s responsibilities include oversight of the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) process, aid administration, counseling, financial literacy, presentations, and website and forms maintenance. This role also serves on university committees and collaborates with various colleges, departments, and external constituents to provide financial education. This position requires strong leadership, professionalism, and communication skills to manage SAP, graduate and professional aid processing, aid counseling and resolving complex aid processing and eligibility issues while serving students, faculty, and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree is preferred.
  • Two or more years in financial aid or a related field required, experience with medical, law school, graduate, and professional level students is required with five years preferred.
  • Requires extensive knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and institutional regulations, policies, and guidance regarding student aid eligibility and processing.
  • Some leadership experience in supervising employees is required.
  • Experience in management of a program or function is required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
  • Independent judgment and initiative.
  • Proven experience in reporting and data analysis.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Experience simultaneously managing multiple projects and bringing them to successful completion.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced computer knowledge and accounting experience
