About The Position

Advises and counsels prospective students for Steubenville and Youngstown locations regarding enrollment, policies, procedures, and programs of study. Assists with the day-to-day operations at the Steubenville location. Develops and implements recruitment strategies and activities. Works under general supervision and makes some procedural decisions which do not contravene policies; generally, determines work sequences (which task comes first) within any department/divisional guidelines. Exercises professional judgment to prioritize competing demands and allocate resources effectively to meet departmental goals. Serves as a subject matter expert and resource person for the assigned area. Acts as a lead worker; provides functional guidance to lower-level workers. Assists in establishing recruitment goals for assigned territory; travels extensively throughout assigned territory to execute recruitment strategies, including high school visits, college and transfer fairs along with community events. Counsels’ first-year, transfer and returning students through each stage of the admissions process, providing personalized guidance and timely follow-up to support enrollment; explain admissions policy and procedures; discuss available academic programs and opportunities. Partners with other Steubenville student-support offices to provide prospective and admitted students with a seamless enrollment experience. Fosters and maintains relationships with local and regional school districts, high schools, and career and technical centers within assigned recruitment territory. Recommends recruitment strategies for specific market segments and target groups based on territory data and market trends. Designs and delivers training materials and/or other supporting documentation necessary for the operation of the assigned area. Analyzes complex data sets and prepares comprehensive reports with recommendations for leadership. Researches and recommends process improvements for departmental operations on a routine or regular basis. Evaluates effectiveness and recommends enhancements of services. Participates and/or leads complex projects, including implementation plans, timelines, and resource requirements. Develops and Implements recruitment events offered in-person and virtually while serving as lead for visit and information sessions at the Steubenville location; assist, when needed, at the Youngstown campus. Collects and maintains accurate recruitment data in accordance with the department’s policies and procedures; report outreach activities with the assistance of Ellucian CRM Recruit and Banner. Establishes appropriate follow-up and outreach to prospective students, parents/family members, and other necessary stakeholders in assigned territory. Supports day-to-day functionality of enrollment operations at the Steubenville location while serving as a liaison with the Youngstown campus. Regularly communicates with supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of overall goals and objectives. Assists other Steubenville student-support offices with recruitment efforts and participate in any programming related to recruitment and enrollment. Remains informed of current developments and procedural changes pertinent to duties; participates in staff development activities; attends meetings and conferences and other events. Assists with training new hires. Employs strong communication and public relations skills. Performs other duties as assigned and/or required that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor.

Requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in business, education, communications, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience working in higher education or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
