The Assistant Director, Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution implements the student conduct process as outlined in Regulation 4.040. This role involves facilitating information meetings, performing investigations, resolving conduct cases through administrative review and hearings, and advising conduct committee hearings. The position also involves referring cases to other conflict resolution processes as appropriate. Additionally, the Assistant Director will assist the Assistant Dean and Director with coordinating education and training for students and faculty/staff involved with the Student Conduct Committee. They will coordinate, develop, and present outreach programs to the University campus and surrounding community on topics such as conflict resolution, academic integrity, the student conduct code, and other services provided by Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution. The role includes assisting in the assessment of the student conduct process, running reports in a database to track caseloads and sanctions, and providing statistical reports to various departments. The Assistant Director will also contribute to the Dean of Students Office (DSO), Student Life Division, and University of Florida through active participation in committees and initiatives, and will oversee records maintenance to ensure compliance with institutional policies, relevant laws, and mandated reporting. Other duties as assigned, including cross-training in other areas within the DSO, may also be part of this role.
