About The Position

The Assistant Director, Strategic Partnerships and Events is a pivotal administrative and operational role responsible for driving the communication, registration infrastructure, and visual brand identity for major University Advancement events and programs. This role blends strategic communications with marketing project management and maintaining database systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Hospitality/Event Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in event management, strategic communications, or CRM database administration.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience building forms, managing data, and running communication campaigns in Slate (Technolutions) or an equivalent major CRM (like Salesforce).
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex timelines and asset production across multiple departments or cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Canva for digital and print layout production.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of experience working within a university or college setting is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Owns the Slate communications strategy and registration infrastructure across five program areas (Friends of the Library, Learning Society, Estate Planning and Wealth Management Forum, Commencement, and Charlotte Business Woman of the Year), setting timelines and campaign cadence for each program.
  • Oversee registration revenue targets for EPWM, LS lectures, and CBWOY; adjusts pricing, messaging, or promotion strategy to hit goals.
  • Serves as the campus-wide subject Slate (CRM) captain for registration systems, managing ~60 forms annually and advising other departments on best event form practices.
  • Manages internal design production (invitations, flyers, programs) in Canva and InDesign for events outside University Marketing's scope, ensuring brand consistency.
  • Partners with University Marketing as the primary liaison for larger event campaigns; managing timelines, deliverables, and asset collection to keep projects on track.
  • Monitors shared inbox management across five program areas, communicating urgent requests for each program, with a plan to consolidate under a unified system.
