About The Position

The University of Notre Dame Global (NDG) is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Assistant Director of Short-Term & Summer Study Abroad Programs to lead the operations, strategy, and student engagement for its growing summer and short-term international portfolio. This role is responsible for guiding undergraduates through their global journey, partnering with faculty to launch high-impact programs, and shaping marketing strategies to encourage student participation in international study. The position involves student advising, program operations, budgeting, campus collaboration, marketing, recruitment, communications, strategy, assessment, and analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3 to 4 years of professional experience in higher education, international education, student advising, or related fields.
  • Firsthand experience living, studying, or working outside the United States.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programming within an academic setting.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to build trust and engage effectively across diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Skilled in standard office and study abroad industry technologies (e.g., Terra Dotta, Via TRM), collaborative platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams), and social media platforms for outreach.
  • A dedicated team player with a strong work ethic, high adaptability, and a commitment to mission-driven work.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end support for undergraduate students, including 1:1 advising, program selection, application guidance, pre-departure orientations, and re-entry debriefings.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for student needs, questions, and concerns across the entire study abroad lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with academic departments and faculty to design and deliver high-quality short-term programs.
  • Oversee program budgets in close collaboration with the NDG finance team.
  • Define program goals, standardize procedures, and ensure all student and program documentation remains accurate and up to date.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for summer study abroad, including info sessions, digital campaigns, and campus events.
  • Partner with the communications team to design compelling promotional materials, manage web content, write newsletters, and produce social media campaigns.
  • Design, deploy, and analyze program assessments and survey reports to continuously evaluate and improve the student experience.
  • Maintain accurate program records and assist in preparing executive reports, proposals, and strategy presentations for NDG leadership.
