We are hiring an Assistant Director of Transfer Admission. The main objective for this position is to build a larger, more diverse and more engaged transfer prospect pool in Drake University's key markets by expanding outreach, recruitment, and presence in Transfer Recruitment spaces. This position is one part of a comprehensive regional and national recruitment team. This position will represent Drake University to a variety of constituents including prospective transfer students, parents, and community college advisors, as well as actively participate in transfer organizations. The selected candidate will work with transfer students through the entire recruitment process, from inquiry to matriculation. We are looking for someone with outstanding communication skills who thrives connecting and building relationships with others; and has a keen attention to detail, positive attitude, and a drive to meet established goals.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in college/university admission or related experience
  • A current Driver's License and the ability to be insured by the University's insurance carrier required

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned transfer recruitment territory to achieve enrollment goals. Responsibilities include transfer recruitment travel in territory, building relationships with various constituencies in the territory, and report generation.
  • Assist in the development, promotion, and execution of a variety of transfer admission recruitment events and activities, both in-person and virtually.
  • Participate in the evaluation of applications from their territory.
  • Manage communication within assigned transfer recruitment territory. This can include the creation of messaging, receipt and response to phone calls, emails, social media, and other information requests.
  • Meet with prospective transfer students and families during visits to Drake University. These meetings may occur in either individual or group settings.
  • Assist in the development of and participate in activities related to public relations and recruitment of transfer prospective students.
  • Provide an evaluation of admission/marketing plans, policies and strategies.
  • Create standard and ad-hoc reports and queries from admission/registration databases.
  • Use data to make informed decisions about territory.
  • Serve as a key member of the Admissions team in supporting its commitment to Drake’s mission and core values; providing excellent customer service and support to current and prospective students; and helping plan and execute Admission Office events, strategies, trainings, and initiatives.
  • Serve on standing and ad hoc committees, as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
