About The Position

The Assistant Director of Sports Science / Football supports the design, implementation, and daily operation of the football sport science program. This role contributes to the monitoring of athlete workload, readiness, and recovery while assisting in translating data into actionable insights for coaches, medical staff, and performance personnel. The position will collaborate across strength & conditioning, sports medicine, nutrition, and coaching staff to enhance player availability, readiness, and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Sport Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, or related field, and/or a master's degree
  • Experience with athlete monitoring technologies (GPS, force plates, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (data organization, formulas, basic analysis)
  • Applied understanding of training load concepts (volume, intensity, ACWR, etc.)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in collegiate or professional football
  • Experience and proficiency with Player tracking systems: Catapult / Zebra systems
  • Experience and proficiency with VALD technologies: ForceDecks, NordBord, ForceFrame
  • Experience and proficiency with Data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI
  • Experience and proficiency with Data analysis & coding tools: R, Python
  • Experience and proficiency with Machine Learning: Predictive modeling, feature engineering, model evaluation
  • Experience and proficiency with Computer Vision: Player tracking, pose estimation, video annotation
  • Experience and proficiency with Systems: Git, APIs
