About The Position

The Assistant Director of Security and Operational Risk assists in managing, supervising, and critiquing the day-to-day security operations to ensure the safety and security of guests, associates, and hotel assets. This role also focuses on maintaining a high level of aggressive hospitality and visibility from security officers. The Assistant Director is responsible for ensuring all officers understand their roles in emergency situations and that the hotel complies with all federal and local laws.

Requirements

Maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid, and be able to perform competently when necessary.
Have working knowledge of the hotel lock and in-room safe systems.
Ability to perform all tasks required of officers on a daily basis.
Assist in dealing with difficult guest or associate issues such as: disorderly conduct, theft, suicides, bomb threats, associate or guest accidents, fire, safety hazards, robberies, terrorist activities, civil disturbances, power failure, elevator entrapment, medical assistance and natural disasters.
Maintain a positive work environment while developing, maintaining and improving on the teamwork atmosphere within the department as well as in the hotel.

Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Security and Operational Risk in leading the security department towards a safe and secure work environment.
Provide reasonably care for all guests who enter the hotel.
Protect the hotel's assets.
Review and conduct performance evaluations.
Implement all policies and procedures regarding Safety and Security.
Monitor master key controls for all hotel master keys.
Monitor security and safety programs.
Investigate all incidents regarding guests, associates, patrons, and hotel assets.
Manage department scheduling.
Manage department payroll.
Implement the hotel's emergency plan.
Assist in providing ongoing training for all officers and hotel staff regarding the hotel's emergency plan, safety, and security.
Conduct fire drills.
Review all documentation prepared by officers daily, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
