About The Position

The Assistant Director of Security assists the Director of Security and Operational Risk in managing, supervising, and critiquing the day-to-day security operations. The role ensures a strong focus on the safety and security of guests, associates, and hotel assets. It also involves assisting the Director in setting, demonstrating, and monitoring the level of aggressive hospitality provided by security officers, ensuring their high visibility throughout the hotel. A key aspect is assisting in the training of all associates regarding their roles in emergency situations and ensuring the hotel's compliance with all Federal and local laws.

Requirements

  • Must maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid, and be able to perform competently when necessary
  • Must have working knowledge of the hotel lock and in-room safe systems.
  • Ability to perform all task required of officers on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to make periodic patrols of the hotel critiquing officers and showing different methods of patrolling.
  • Must be able to assist in dealing with difficult guest or associate issues such as: disorderly conduct, theft, suicides, bomb threats, associate or guest accidents, fire, safety hazards, robberies, terrorist activities, civil disturbances, power failure, elevator entrapment, medical assistance and natural disasters.
  • Must maintain a positive work environment while developing, maintaining and improving on the teamwork atmosphere within the department as well as in the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Director of Security and Operational Risk in leading the security departments towards a safe and secure work environment for all associates, providing reasonably care for all guest who enter our hotel and protecting the hotels assets.
  • Reviewing and conducting performance evaluations
  • Implementation of all policies and procedures regarding Safety and Security
  • Monitor master key controls for all hotel master keys
  • Monitoring security and safety programs.
  • Investigating all incidents regarding guest, associates, patrons and hotel assets
  • Department scheduling
  • Department payroll
  • Implementing the hotels emergency plan.
  • Assist in providing on-going training for all officers and hotel staff as it pertains to the Hotels emergency plan, safety and security.
  • Conducting fire drills
  • Reviewing all documentation prepared by the officers daily, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
