The purpose of this position is to oversee strategic sales, booking, event services, box office operations, marketing coordination, and corporate relations initiatives for the Convention Facilities Department, including the McAllen Convention Center, McAllen Performing Arts Center and related facilities. The Assistant Director assists the Director of Convention Facilities in the planning, leadership, administration, revenue development, utilization, and operational coordination of venue programs and services while ensuring high levels of customer service, financial performance, community engagement, and organizational effectiveness. This position serves as a senior leadership role responsible for supervising departmental staff, developing strategic initiatives, cultivating client and community partnerships, supporting economic development and cultural tourism objectives, and advancing the City's mission through events, entertainment, performing arts, and destination programming.
