About The Position

Life Care Center of Casper is a skilled nursing community that is part of a large network of facilities across the United States. The facility has a CMS rating of 4 stars and a Quality Measures rating of 4 stars. They offer in-house rehab programs, continuing education, growth opportunities, mentorship programs, and flexible scheduling. The Assistant Director of Rehabilitation Services will assist the Director of Rehabilitation Services in managing the physical, occupational, and speech therapy departments to ensure high-quality services.

Requirements

  • Active license in physical (BSPT, MSPT, DPT, or PTA), occupational (BSOT, MSOT, COTA), or speech (MA, MS, CCC SLP, or CFY SLP) therapy and meet the educational requirements as defined in the job description for that license type.
  • Currently registered/licensed with applicable State.
  • Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail.
  • Exercise good body mechanics at all times.
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility.
  • Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation.
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.
  • Fulfill core competencies of licensed position and provide clinical oversight within discipline and in accordance with rehab practice standards.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
  • Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
  • Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience in post acute care or related setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Director of Rehabilitation Services in directing the three rehab departments of physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
  • Ensures the highest quality rehab services in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
  • Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for patient needs.
  • Implements and interprets the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
  • Recruits, selects, hires, evaluates, trains, counsels, and supervises rehab staff.
  • Directs the growth, development, and maintenance of rehab programs.
  • Functions as staff therapist as caseload requires.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing patterns as clinically indicated.
  • Utilizes therapy software appropriately and accurately.
  • Assumes the duties of the DOR in his or her absence.
  • Assists in the evacuation of patients.
