The Master of Engineering Technical Management (METM) Assistant Director of Business Development creates and deploys a strategic plan for recruiting quality working professional students and promoting the professional development courses/programs, professional speaking events, and other sponsored programs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six years of related experience.
  • Outstanding organization, interpersonal, oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with initiative, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a willingness to ask questions.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to balance multiple, simultaneous priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of project management from conception to delivery in a timely manner and on budget.
  • High-level of proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, electronic communication, the internet, and web-based applications.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, a “can do” attitude, and mental agility to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules high-level meetings with decision-makers at target organizations.
  • Actively identifies and generates prospects through strategic sales strategies focusing on customers in target markets.
  • Tracks account metrics such as quality students applied, accepted, and number of professional development programs sold.
  • Performs market/competitive analysis and determines target organizations.
  • Assists with drafting business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference material, and other documents as required.
  • Assists in the establishment of marketing strategies.
  • Creates, maintains, and reviews a business development budget.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of strategies and recommends changes and best practices.
  • Designs, plans, and coordinates the process to generate leads for business.
  • Identifies new business opportunities and partners through the review and prospecting of markets, competitors, and products. Prospecting would include data analysis, networking, and general knowledge of the markets.
  • Works closely with marketing staff to ensure effective strategy and execution of marketing plan to generate qualified leads.
  • Builds relationships with leaders of target organizations.
  • Establishes and maintains a network of industry contacts through participation in professional/trade associations and other professional networking organizations.
  • Develop effective strategies to sell online and in-person professional development courses/programs to individuals, associations, and small-big companies.
  • Support the faculty with the initial logistics, operation and certification.
  • Set up and manage recruiting events to attract leads and applicants.
  • Effectively manages and utilizes the CRM system for: campaign creation, lead management and tracking, reporting, and tactical and strategic decision-making.
  • Serves on the Admissions Committee for the METM program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
