About The Position

The Assistant Director of Parent Giving and Engagement plays a vital role in enhancing philanthropic support and strengthening relationships within the parent community. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to encourage current parents to engage meaningfully with the school and contribute to both annual and leadership-giving initiatives. This 12-month, full time position reports to the Director of The Hun Fund. To support the school's mission and community values, employees are expected to actively participate in the life of The Hun School in meaningful, professional, and appropriate ways beyond their specific roles. This involvement fosters a deeper understanding of the student experience and the school’s academic, co-curricular, and residential programs. Such engagement will also be taken into account during annual performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Outstanding technical skills, and an aptitude and willingness for learning new software and systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to coordinate multiple concurrent projects with attention to detail and adhere to deadlines
  • High degree of flexibility, agility and adaptability to changes, and unafraid of challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including responsive customer service and strong oral and written communication
  • Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, which may be altered or redesigned as necessary

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of the Hun Fund to create and execute a comprehensive giving program for parents
  • Oversee and enhance participation in the Hun Fund, with an emphasis on increasing parent giving at the leadership level ($1,914+)
  • Develop targeted engagement strategies for various parent groups, including new families, current families, and past parents.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current parents and key volunteer groups
  • Manage a portfolio of parent donors and prospects, focusing on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Collaborate with Leadership Giving colleagues to identify and advance high-capacity parent prospects.
  • Recruit, train, and support parent volunteers, such as class representatives and campaign ambassadors
  • Provide ongoing communication, resources, and recognition to maintain volunteer engagement.
  • Act as the Development Office representative for the Parents Association Committee by attending meetings, participating in discussions, and ensuring clear communication
  • Collaborate with parent volunteers to strengthen relationships, address concerns, and provide timely information about initiatives supporting both the Development Office and the Parents Association
  • Organize and implement events focused on parent engagement, both on- and off-campus, to enhance community and philanthropic connections, including the Gala, Homecoming, and Grandparents Day
  • Collaborate with school leadership to develop meaningful engagement opportunities aligned with the school’s mission and priorities.
  • Develop compelling and persuasive messaging that highlights the profound impact of parent philanthropy on our community
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing and communications teams to craft engaging emails, impactful fundraising appeals, and dynamic digital content that resonate with our audience
  • Ensure that all materials convey a clear and inspiring narrative about the vital role parents play in fostering a thriving educational environment.
  • Track and analyze parent giving participation, retention, and trends
  • Utilize CRM systems (RE/NXT) to manage outreach, engagement, and donor activities
  • Prepare reports and updates for the leadership team and parent committees.
