About The Position

The Assistant Director of Operations (ADO) will assist in overseeing the overall functions of the 121 Operation. In the absence of the Director of Operations (DO), the ADO will assist the Director of OCC or Chief Pilot as required. This role involves ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient management of all flight operations, supporting regulatory compliance, and contributing to operational planning and improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • FAA-issued Airline Transport pilot license which has never been suspended or revoked.
  • At least three years of 121 PIC experience.
  • Understand and be able to write procedures in compliance with the regulations (FARs).
  • Must be able to research FAA DRS 8900.1, Advisory Circulars (AC), and any other FAA and DOT documents.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Operations in the safe, compliant, and efficient management of all flight operations conducted under 14 CFR Part 121 and company rules and regulations.
  • Ensuring prompt reporting, filing, and follow-up action on accidents and other required reports to the appropriate FAA agencies.
  • Monitor operational trends and proactively identify compliance risks or process gaps requiring corrective action.
  • Support FAA audits, inspections, certificate management activities, and regulatory correspondence.
  • Assist in the development, revision, implementation, and oversight of operational manuals, procedures, and programs.
  • Assists the Director of Safety in monitoring, assisting, and coordinating with all flight Operations safety audits. Correcting all findings and closing them in a timely matter.
  • Understand and actively participate in the Global X Airlines Safety Management System, remaining vigilant for hazards/associated safety risks and for reporting safety issues to supervisors.
  • Support hiring, training, performance management, and professional development initiatives within operational departments.
  • Serve as a delegated operational leader during irregular operations (IROPs), AOG events, weather disruptions, diversions, and recovery efforts.
  • Assist with long-term operational planning including fleet growth, route expansion, staffing models, and operational scalability initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational reliability, on-time performance, resource utilization, and customer experience.
  • Lead special operational initiatives as assigned by the Director of Operations.
  • Assist with vendor management and operational contract oversight.
  • Promote and reinforce a proactive safety culture throughout flight operations.
