We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team and help ensure the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan.
  • Previous experience in geriatric nursing required.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, quality improvement processes, and nursing standards of practice.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or nursing management experience preferred.
  • Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing environments strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of and commitment to Intergenerational principles and the Eden Alternative philosophy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in the overall management and operation of nursing services.
  • Maintain accountability for resident care and nursing activities on assigned Pavilion 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Delegate responsibilities to nursing staff and monitor outcomes to ensure quality care and compliance.
  • Support and uphold Resident Care Policies and the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations, nursing standards of practice, and organizational policies.
  • Support and promote the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and recommend enhancements to clinical systems and processes.
  • Assist with implementation and monitoring of Minimum Data Set (MDS) processes, care planning, infection control programs, and clinical documentation standards.
  • Provide positive leadership, mentorship, and guidance to nursing staff.
  • Monitor employee performance and foster professional accountability.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary processes as needed.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and maintain a visible leadership presence across all shifts.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care.
  • Maintain open communication with residents, families, healthcare providers, and team members.
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and adherence to the organization's Code of Conduct.
  • Stay current on trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in long-term care nursing.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities and share knowledge with team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals and resident care excellence.
